Profile Photo

I am an AI Engineer at Effingo, an innovative startup at the forefront of AI Fashion Tech. At Effingo, we redefine the boundaries of the digital fashion industry by creating hyper-realistic AI models and 8K cinematic video content. I work on proprietary technologies focusing on consistent identity management, photorealistic micro-textures, and advanced fabric physics, enabling brands to transcend the limitations of traditional physical photoshoots.

In this context, I recently led the technological implementation for Riviera Dream Vision in Rimini. We developed an interactive totem for live virtual try-on. Unlike traditional Augmented Reality (AR) solutions, this system is powered exclusively by Generative AI, allowing users to instantly "wear" high-fashion garments from iconic brands such as Alberta Ferretti, Iceberg, and Moschino with a level of visual fidelity indistinguishable from reality.

Parallel to my industrial work, I am a researcher at the Virtual and Augmented Reality Lab (VARLab) at the University of Bologna, under the supervision of Prof. Gustavo Marfia and Prof. Pasquale Cascarano. My research focuses on Mixed Reality technologies for neurosurgical simulation, aiming to develop immersive systems that enhance both the realism and accessibility of surgical education.

The scientific impact of this research was recently recognized at the VRST 2025 (ACM Symposium on Virtual Reality Software and Technology) conference, where our paper, "See It and Hear It: Multimodal Guidance in MR-Based Neurosurgical Simulation for Skill Retention", was honored with the Best Paper Award. This work describes the innovations introduced by the Neuromix system, a project developed in collaboration with Bellaria Hospital.

I hold a Master’s degree in Computer Science from the University of Bologna and a double degree in Intelligent Interactive Systems from the University of Bielefeld. Previously, I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science at the University of Bologna, where I developed a software monitoring dashboard as my thesis project.

Beyond my technical and academic roles, I am actively involved in digital transformation education. Between May and June 2025, as part of the PNRR projects (Mission 4 – DM 66/2023), I conducted specialized training courses on "Cybersecurity and cyberbullying prevention" at Comprehensive School 4 in Bologna. My professional background also includes extensive experience in system administration.
